Honorable Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali visited Sargodha Chamber of Commerce & Industry along with the Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and other senior administrative officers (MD Horticulture Agency, ADC HQ/CO MC, MD WASA, ADCG/CEO SGWMC), where an in-depth interactive meeting was held with the business community at SCC&I.The meeting formally commenced with a welcome address by Khawaja Yasir Qayyum President Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry , who highlighted Sargodha’s economic importance, particularly its contribution through agriculture, kinnow exports, trade, and industry, and emphasized the need for a practical, result-oriented partnership between the administration and the business community.Key issues faced by traders and markets were comprehensively presented by Naveed Shahzad, Chairman Standing Committee on Metropolitan Affairs, including severe traffic congestion, parking shortages, enforcement-related challenges, market infrastructure gaps, hospital conditions, sewerage project execution, and the pressing need for a permanent consultative mechanism to avoid ad-hoc actions and ensure sustainable solutions.The Honorable Commissioner attentively reviewed all concerns, briefed participants on ongoing development initiatives—particularly the Rs. 55 billion sewerage and waste management projects across the division and the Rs. 14 billion WASA project in Sargodha city—and assured that timelines, quality, and transparency would be strictly monitored. He also reaffirmed strict but consultative implementation of Ramadan price control measures, activation of Sahulat Bazaars, and door-to-door delivery of ration cards, while stressing that future administrative actions would be aligned with stakeholder consultation.Key decisions included strengthening coordination between traders and administration, improving traffic management through expert planning, ensuring better civic services, and moving forward with joint committees and regular strategic meetings.Patron-in-Chief Chaudhry Aamer Ata Bajwa and Chairman Mian Tariq Yaqoob emphasized the importance of continuity in dialogue, balanced enforcement, and collective planning for long-term urban development and protection of livelihoods. A large number of stakeholders, members of the Executive Committee, and former Presidents of the Chamber also participated actively, sharing sector-wise concerns and suggestions.The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Mian Muhammad Imran, reiterating the Chamber’s commitment to working hand in hand with the administration to make Sargodha a business-friendly, organized, and investor-friendly division.
